As I was getting ready for the second to last wedding of the season, I couldn’t help myself but to figure some tips and tricks for my couples that can help ease the stress and move the day along quickly but efficiently from everything that I learned this year. If you have ever seen me work either via person or through social media then you know that I am very on time and work with your schedule. So please enjoy these 5 tips and tricks that I was thinking about over the year.

Be Mindful of Timeline

I cannot stress enough how important this is. When planning a time for your ceremony, be mindful of the start time. Family photos take 20-30 min (on average unless you have a very large family), Bridal portraits take 20 min and I need at least 30-45 min for romantics. I need to do all of this while the sun is still up in the winter or need to excuse you for some sunset romantics during the summer. This means that ideally your ceremony start time should be two hours before sunset. If it is the summer season, please plan to leave dinner for 30 min to take some sunset romantics. If it is the winter season, remember about the time change. Pro Tip: Hire a coordinator to make the day as smooth as possible!

Hair & Makeup Professionals

Even if your BFF wears the best makeup ever, I promise you won’t regret hiring a professional hair and makeup artist. From my experience, tardiness is usually to due long hair and makeup artists, so I highly suggest hiring someone who has awesome wedding experience. Plus, who doesn’t want a little pampering on their wedding day!

Ask Questions

Seriously, ask your photographers lots of questions and include them in your wedding planning process. You aren’t bothering us. We want to feel included so that there are no surprises during the ceremony and reception.

Details, Details, Details

To make the day run smoothly task one of your bridesmaids with having the details ready for the photographer. Make sure to bring an extra invitation & envelope. Have all your special jewelry, the rings, garter and bouquet at the bridal suite. Some brides even have fancy underwear so make sure to have that there too.

Have fun!

I know that everyone has already probably told you, but your wedding day goes by SO fast. As a previous bride who never even had a drink or forgot to eat at her wedding don’t be me! Enjoy your day. As a photographer, I am here to be more than just a photographer for you guys. I have ran and gotten vows mid ceremony, carried sleeping kids around to make sure the bride and groom didn’t see each other, fixed blow away hair, held your dress. I am invested in YOU and want to know YOU so lets go get a drink (because I hate coffee) or grab some food together before your big day.

Thank you for reading these little tip and tricks that I created. For now, enjoy the second to last wedding of my 2018 season! How absolutely glorious is this!
